The conference SPORTS IMPULSES: PALESTRA 2025 proved its necessity. Palestra confirmed the role of the university as a bridge between theory and practice.
The fourth edition of the conference SPORTS IMPULSES: PALESTRA 2025, which took place on Monday 1 December at the PALESTRA University of Technology in Prague - Kbely, clearly confirmed its importance and growing relevance for the sports, educational and professional community. The conference showed once again that the open sharing of experience, data, inspiration and practice has a strong place in the sports environment - and that Palestra is an institution that can connect the academic world with the sports practice and community.
The event was attended by students, teachers, academic staff, coaches, physiotherapists, managers of sports events, representatives of sports associations and clubs. Thus, Palestra's ability to connect individual groups - practitioners with students, academics with sports organisations and theoretical knowledge with its actual application - stood out.
The conference was opened by the Rector Prof. PaedDr. Rudolf Psotta, Ph.D., who emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary cooperation and continuous development of knowledge in the sports environment.
The expert programme was held according to the planned structure in five thematic sections:
- Impact of sport events (in cooperation with the Czech Association of Sports Economists and Managers).
- Sports training and sports environment.
- Physiotherapy in athletes.
- The Olympic Games and their connection with national events (in cooperation with the Czech Olympic Academy).
- Nutrition of athletes.
Participants were thus exposed to current topics that link sport, science, event organisation, health and modern trends in training and rehabilitation.
Dr. Tomáš Mirovský, the main organizer of the conference and the Vice-Rector of VŠTVS PALESTRA, says: "We consider the main benefits of the conference to be the fact that we are able to bring top speakers to the Palestra and to enable our students to get the latest information from practice that will suitably complement the teaching. At the same time, we bring the sports community and professionals to The Palestra, which allows us to showcase our college, the facilities for students, and the overall atmosphere of our school."
The presentations of the speakers and the recorded lectures will be made available to students and other interested parties in the coming days. The aim is to allow inspiration and new impulses to be disseminated to as wide a range of people who influence the sporting environment as possible.
