The Medal of the Ministry of Education, the highest award in the field of education, was presented today to 48 outstanding teachers by the Minister of Education, Youth and Sports Robert Plaga. This award is traditionally given by the Ministry of Education on Teachers' Day, the anniversary of the birth of Jan Amos Comenius. The laureates received the 1st and 2nd degree medals at a ceremony in the Senate. One award was given in memoriam.
As a university teacher, PhDr. Jana Skarlanotvá has focused on the field of art education and aesthetics, and her teaching activities are accompanied by a rich publishing activity. For many years she has been the head of the Alšova země art competition, founded the art studio at the Pedagogical Faculty of Charles University, is a member of several juries of domestic and international art competitions, and is a member of the organizing team of the European competition "Europe at School". This year, Dr. Skarlantová is celebrating a significant jubilee and at the same time she will celebrate 53 years of work in education.
