Centre of Practice

PALESTRA VŠTVS Practice Centre

The Practice Centre has been operating at Palestra since 2016 and is one of the main reasons why our graduates are well prepared for their future careers. Every student in the Bachelor's and Master's programmes has a compulsory professional practice during their studies - and the Practice Centre helps them find the right one.

How do the practices at Palestra work?

Internships are not a formality. We pride ourselves on their quality and that is why:

  • Students have the support of a responsible teacher who supervises the selection and progress of the internship,
  • Partners are vetted - we visit each site in advance and set up the cooperation clearly,
  • Each group of students has a supervisor with whom they work together to develop a practice plan, address current experiences and receive ongoing feedback.

Practice Guide - confidence from day one

Every student receives a Practice Guide upon entering the first year. This document is valid for the whole study and contains:

  • practice objectives,
  • hourly subsidy,
  • an overview of the individual courses by semester and their requirements,
  • the required outcomes for the entire study.

The guide is also available on the Moggis Information System, where the internship offers, contact persons and the consultation system are continuously updated. This way, students always have an overview of what is expected of them and what opportunities are opening up.

What do internships bring to students?

  • Real industry experience: students will experience working in sports clubs, fitness centres, wellness facilities, rehabilitation facilities or organising large sporting events.
  • Connecting theory with practice: the knowledge acquired at school is immediately tested in practice - for example, when creating nutrition plans, conducting training, communicating with clients or organizing an event.
  • Professional contacts: during their work experience, students get to know professionals and potential employers, which makes it easier for them to take their first steps on the labour market.
  • Developing creativity: practice often brings real challenges to solve - students learn to find their own ideas and effective approaches.

Added value for the future

Internships are not only a compulsory part of the studies. They are a way to find a career path that really suits you. Many of our students have found their first job or co-operation through internships that have continued after school.

In addition, our degree programmes have a strong focus on prevention, sport and leisure activities, where graduates work directly with clients - whether athletes, patients or the general public. That's why a well-rounded practice is absolutely crucial. But at the same time, the responsibility does not only lie with the school and its partners. The active approach and personal commitment of the students are essential for the practice to make a real difference and open the way to a career.

Overview of institutionswhere it is possible to take professional practice can be found here. The list will be continuously updated.
