PALESTRA Diagnostic Centre
We offer a spiro-ergometry stress test with ECG evaluation under load and diagnosis of body composition by bioimpedance method.
You can find us at Slovačíkova 400/1, 197 00 Praha 9 - Kbely.
The Diagnostic Centre is an activity offered by the PALESTRA University of Technical Education and Sport to its students as part of their studies, to deepen their knowledge in the field of functional examination, preparation of training plans and exercise programs.
STRESS TESTS - SPIROERGOMETRY - INCLUDING ECG DURING EXERCISE
He evaluates the tests:

STRESS TEST - YES OR NO? AND WHAT FOR?
For those who have decided to start running, many question marks remain at the start. How fast should I run? And for how long? And should I keep running the same speed? Similarly, a more experienced runner who wants to achieve better results and race with the best asks: How to get faster? How many times can I train to keep up? Some people want to be guided solely by their feelings, while others advocate clear numbers and go by the instruments. If you belong to the latter group, here are some tips to save yourself a lot of time trying to find the right training intensity.
You bought a sporttester and now what to do with it. It shows you some heart rate numbers. You run and you see the reading go up, you slow down and it goes down. But what is the right number, where should you be?
The essential information you need to know is your maximum heart rate (SF max). The second essential value is your anaerobic threshold. Or the heart rate at anaerobic threshold (SF anp).
Untrained individuals have an anaerobic threshold of approximately 65 % SF max. Peak athletes can have it as high as 95 % SF max. Knowing these numbers, you can then calculate training bands based on what you want to develop and what you are preparing for.
HOW DOES SUCH AN EXAMINATION WORK AND HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
If you want to make sure that your heart is functioning well even at higher exercise intensities, you need to monitor your ECG throughout the entire exercise period up to the maximum. At the diagnostic centre of the PALESTRA College of Physical Education and Sport, the resting ECG is measured at the beginning, followed by resting spirometry to determine the lung volume and airway patency, and then the actual stress test can begin.
You can choose between a treadmill examination, for cyclists a bicycle examination is preferable. You will wear ECG leads and breathe into the spirometer throughout the exercise. The load is increased gradually, to allow your body to adapt sufficiently. Most examinees finish the test after about twelve to thirteen minutes, when they reach their peak.
From the processed results, you will then get information about your anaerobic threshold, maximum heart rate, what your endurance and speed-endurance prerequisites are and another fitness indicator - the so-called endurance training coefficient VO2 max.
The PALESTRA Diagnostic Centre serves both students for teaching and the general public. Anyone can make an appointment for an examination.
