Organisational arrangements

  • The training is implemented on the basis of a contract between the sports association and VŠTVS PALESTRA.
  • Teaching following the trajectory of the SKS Fitness undergraduate courses with modifications in the first two years. The study is carried out within the framework of CŽV with the possibility of obtaining 60% credits required for the Bachelor's degree.
  • Creation of smaller study groups also for theoretical teaching and combining participants of the programme according to sports that have a similar basis.
  • Combination of full-time and distance learning with the support of e-learning study aids.
  • Classes are held in four blocks per semester (in the second year there will be three blocks of classes per semester), always Monday - Thursday 8.30 - 14.00. The timetable of practice is within the framework of individual agreements with the specific sports association.

Conditions for admission to study

  • Full secondary education ending with a high school diploma.
  • Submission of the application form including the required documents: certificate of a physical education physician, affidavit of integrity, certified copy of the coach's B/II. class, unless the contract with the specific association provides otherwise, certified copy of the high school diploma.
  • Submitting an application is free of charge
  • Nomination to the study by the partner sports federation, which guarantees the achievement of the second highest coaching qualification of the respective sports federation, unless it is implemented in cooperation with VŠTVS PALESTRA.

Subsequently:

  • VŠTVS PALESTRA will conclude an individual contract with each participant of the programme on studying at the PALESTRA Technical School.
  • All personal data will be processed in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act. Information about the participant will be shared with the sports association that co-organises the Coaching Course and issues the coaching licence.
  • After the application for studies has been submitted, the school will check the approval of the association and will send the study contract and other information regarding the start of the studies (the documents are sent to Moggis in the Personal file).

Completion of courses and studies

  • The courses taught are based on the SKS Fitness curriculum, which specifies how the courses are completed (credit, graded credit, exam).
  • Within the PALESTRA TA programme we prefer practical testing, use of discussion forums, self-reflection in front of the group.

Completion of studies

  • The final examination is held by defending the final thesis before the examination committee. The final thesis can also be the basis for the assignment of a bachelor's thesis in the case of entry to the 3rd year of bachelor's studies.
  • The final thesis must be defended within two years of the completion of the final year of study.
  • The defended Thesis is published.
  • After completing all prescribed examinations, credits and defending the final thesis, the graduate receives:
    • Certificate of successful completion of the PALESTRA TS studies in the Lifelong Learning Programme.
    • Depending on the specification of the individual federations (completion of the practical part of the training, which is guaranteed by each individual federation) a 1st class / A class licence issued by the sports federation.

Funding

Tuition fee for 1 year of study is 60 000 CZK / academic year.

Please note that participants in the CŽV programme are not full-time undergraduate students and are therefore not entitled to the social benefits of full-time students.
