The mission of the module is to introduce students to the requirements, methods and resources needed to develop a seminar paper, an MBA thesis project and subsequently an MBA thesis through continuous work and consultations.
MBA theses are often in the form of case studies, so the form of focus and processing differs from other types of theses that students prepare. Emphasis is placed on this form of thesis. However, this does not preclude other forms of thesis.
Attention is focused on establishing contact with practice (through internship in a specific company, most often in the form of shadowing a specific position), the correct compilation of a case study and adequate written presentation of this study.
Emphasis is also placed on the principles of professional text production and the principles of formal editing.
The output of the course is an approved MBA thesis project with all the prescribed formalities (objective, problem, elaboration of the content of the chapters, specification of bibliographic sources, procedure of work organization, time procedure). The formal structure of the project (the basis for the assignment of the thesis) is determined by the school's guidelines.
The course "Methods of Applied Statistics" focuses on working with economic data and understanding the results of statistical analyses and procedures that are performed and used in the corporate sphere and in government. One of the objectives of the course is to learn the statistical methods needed to prepare the final thesis of the MBA Program.

The module highlights the relationship between economics and sport, presenting certain economic aspects of the connection between physical education, sport and physical recreation in terms of institutional, microeconomic, macroeconomic, public economics, public finance. Its content also includes certain regional and municipal economic aspects affecting investment activities, employment, economic growth.
The module focuses on brief developments, main trends and the current state of the world economy. It introduces students to the main actors of the world economic system (states, international organisations, transnational corporations, regional integration) and their interrelationships. Based on the understanding of the processes of economic integration, it creates conditions for understanding the possibilities and limits of a more effective participation of the Czech Republic in the global economy.
From the perspective of the sport sector, its position in the economy is important and thus the significant contribution of sport policy to the regulation of the sector in terms of optimising it for significant benefits to society.
The module provides information on the European Union, the historical development of European integration, EU institutions focused on the economy and their activities. It also gives students an insight into the decision-making process followed by the EU institutions when drafting legislation. It builds on issues of monetary integration, the Euro and the Eurozone, and the EU's internal economic policies. It emphasises its policies in the field of sport. It also looks at changes in the EU's position in the world economy. Published by i topical EU issues.

Module reflects the latest findings in the field from domestic and international literature. It provides up-to-date information on the specifics of the application of management theory in the sports environment. It focuses on issues of structure and management of sports organizations in the public sector, the non-profit sector and in professional sports from the perspective of the application of basic managerial functions. The student has the opportunity to become familiar with the application of the principles of strategic planning, organization, leadership and management of human resources and control as well as the issue of measuring the performance of sports organizations - the principles of good governance.
Business model as a model presentation of logical connections, where the organization or enterprise creates added value for the customer and at the same time generates revenue for the organization. The definition of business models varies; the important thing is that we delimit the business model and the strategy of the company, the organization. An important part is the clarification of the need for business models in practice and their typology.

In many ways, the sports club resembles a business in the traditional sense. One of its characteristics is its orientation towards profit, benefits and their maximization. Sport is a rapidly developing sector of the present and the future. Sport enterprises produce and market products and services for consumer consumption, supplying sports people with high-value sporting goods, expert business and consultancy services, attractive movement offers and emotional life experiences.
The task of the manager of a company operating in the sport sector is, among other things, to manage business activities and market sport products. Sport economics brings its specific form of interdisciplinary insight into the economics of physical culture as well; sport economics uses its own means of expression to systematically explore the effects of physical culture on people and the economic environment.
An integral part of the course is also the issue of ethical behaviour, leadership, motivation in the company and specifics for the sports environment as one of the supporting functions of the company: human resource management and leadership.

The module provides an understanding of the organisation and management of sports organisations based on different forms of institutionalisation of organisations and companies - non-profit organisations, commercial companies.
It deals with the principles of formation, functioning and dissolution of sports organisations, their organisational structures and financial management. It also provides knowledge of the economics and management of sports facilities and discusses operators and investors of sports infrastructure, urban planning standards and their comparison with foreign countries.
It provides insights into the importance and status of the main organisers of sporting events: International Olympic Committee (IOC), International Football Federation (FIFA), International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), Games Organising Committees, municipalities, state and regions, sponsors, investors and financial flows, marketing agencies, spectators.

The module introduces students to aspects of the work of a marketing officer in a sports organisation: the demands of the job role on creativity in finding funding to support sports activity or the operation of a sports facility. Practical experience training. Further knowledge of specific areas in sport: manufacturers and sellers of sports equipment, sports competitions, professional sports clubs, as well as non-profit organisations in sport.
The dynamics of the sport sector in space and time require the most efficient and expeditious management of matters that affect this specific environment on a daily basis.
The module also focuses on the relationship between sport and law, on sports legislation in the Czech Republic, on European legislation in the field of sport; in particular on the legal regulation of advertising and sponsorship in sport.

The module is conceptually oriented towards subjects providing knowledge and practical applications of human resource management and teamwork, coaching; it emphasizes ethical aspects of leadership. It is also measured on motivational leadership and emotional intelligence. Emphasizes specifics in individual and team sports.
Through tasks designed for self-study, it creates prerequisites for enriching knowledge in relation to the applicability of managerial functions in the environment of sports organizations.

The issue of events within the sports industry is very closely linked to management and marketing (with an emphasis on communication, distribution and marketing analysis). The area of event financing and the associated partnerships and sponsorship also requires separate attention. A significant part of this is the issue of mega-events.
9. Final thesis
Brief annotation:
The module consists in the preparation and defence of the final thesis - Master Thesis; the MBA thesis project, which is emphasised in Module 1 - Diploma Seminar, is a prerequisite. In the course of study and in the course of completing the individual courses and modules, the student will have the opportunity to work on partial tasks of his/her final thesis and thus consult and refine the entire thesis during the course of study.
The completion and successful defence of the final written thesis, which the student structures during the course of study, is a prerequisite for the completion of the MBA programme.
Thematically, the final theses will be focused mainly on solving specific problems in the field of the study programme participant's work activities.
