Insurance for international students
- Compulsory health insurance for foreigners
Foreign students who are not members of the public health insurance in the Czech Republic (e.g. they do not have permanent residence or are not employed) are obliged to take out commercial health insurance. - Insurance coverage requirements
For stays longer than 90 days, comprehensive travel health insurance is required. As of 20 September 2023, the minimum limit of indemnity is set at EUR 400,000, excluding the insured's deductible. infocizinci.cz+3zakonyprolidi.cz+3mv.gov.cz+3zakonyprolidi.cz+2ipc.gov.cz+2mv.gov.cz+2
- Accepted insurance companies
As of 20 September 2023, the VZP Insurance Company (PVZP) is no longer the only insurance company authorised to provide comprehensive health insurance to foreigners. Now, other insurance companies that are authorised to offer this insurance may also offer it. These include:ipc.gov.cz

Students from the European Union they must have a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), on arrival they must register with the relevant insurance company and will be issued with a certificate to present to the study department.
The student is obliged to submit the insurance certificate to the study department.
