On 7 November 2019, the 6th Biennial International Conference "Wellness, Health and Quality of Life" was held at the PALESTRA University of Physical Education and Sport in Prague. The conference proceedings focused on three main thematic areas: Wellness, Health and Quality of Life for Seniors; Public Awareness of the Importance of Wellness for Human Life; Health Benefits of Wellness for Persons with Disabilities in Sporting Conditions.

The aim of the 6th Biennial International Conference on "Wellness, Health and Quality of Life" was to help bridge the gap between research and application to practice and to share knowledge and practical transformations from an international perspective. The latest conceptual approaches were presented with regard to the bio-psycho-social determinants of quality of life in the elderly.

The conference was held under the auspices of the Rector of the University of Physical Education and Sport PALESTRA doc. PhDr. Pavel Tilinger, CSc., with the support of the Grant Agency of the Czech Republic under the project GAČR ID 17-25710S "Basic research on changes in balance of the elderly".

In addition to the scientific outputs of Czech experts, the conference also presented research studies by experts from Bulgaria, Japan, Canada, Poland, Russia, Greece, Slovakia and the USA.

Prof. PhDr. Václav Hošek, DrSc. and doc. PhDr. Jan Neuman, CSc. received on the occasion of the conference from the hands of the Rector "Honorary Recognition and Commemorative Medal of VŠTVS Palestra for outstanding long-term contribution to the development of the University of Physical Education and Sport PALESTRA.
