Palestra received a subsidy within the OP "Research, Development and Education" (project registration number: CZ.02.2.67/0.0/0.0/17-044/

Closing date: 31 October 2018
Thanks to a project co-financed by the European Union, the diagnostic centre and other classrooms, especially biomedical classrooms, of the PALESTRA University of Physical Education and Sport are equipped with additional modern equipment.
Students will be able to observe the practical use of ultrasound for the examination of muscles and tendons and the subsequent interpretation of the results. A strain gauge plate has been acquired for static and dynamic diagnosis of plantarflexion. It makes it possible to perform dynamic postural tests and professional biomechanical analysis.
For the seventh year, the diagnostic centre has been performing spiroergometry stress tests. Now the centre is newly equipped with a special Seiva Trackmaster treadmill and a new bicycle ergometer, as well as a Seiva wireless ECG for a more comfortable test. Furthermore, the new Spiroceptor Flow Analyzer. Of course, the diagnostic centre is equipped with several tonometers, both mercury and analogue, which the students are learning to use. To test the amount of cholesterol, sugar or uric acid, we have a device for this analysis.
Another addition to the newly equipped massage room is the BTL 6000 Lymphastim lymphatic drainage machine, whose functions and use students can learn about in wellness classes.
Anatomical models were purchased for the biomedical classrooms for teaching first aid and anatomy, e.g.CPR Lilly PRO with tablet, Human muscle mannequin - male - 37 parts, Intervertebral disc protrusion simulator, Torso of first aid - choking - child, Lower limb model with muscles - 9 parts, Spinal cord model, Upper limb muscle model, Schematic model of airway, Mannequin of lifting loads, Prestan CPR-AED infant simulator with CPR monitor Little Junior - resuscitation model.
A server was also purchased from the subsidy to replace the current inadequate one and will be used, among other things, to store the outputs of diagnostic approaches and instruments in the biomedical classroom.
In addition, subscriptions to e-journals (e.g. Psychology, Rescue Report, Yoga Today, ...) and more than 60 e-books were purchased and are available in the school library.
The project was co-financed by the European Union.
