STUDENT TESTIMONIALS

Studying the MBA programme in Sports Management at VŠTVS Palestra was a valuable experience for me, both in terms of professional and personal development. As an entrepreneur in the fitness sector, I was looking for a way to systematically deepen my knowledge of sports management whilst ensuring that I was steering my business in the right direction. The programme provided me with a broader strategic perspective on the management of sports organisations and current trends in the ever-growing fitness sector. The opportunity to meet and collaborate with other experts in the fields of sport, marketing and business was also a great benefit to me. Thanks to this, I have established a number of interesting contacts that have practical implications for my day-to-day work. I also found the preparation and defence of my final thesis to be very beneficial; in it, I focused on the marketing and development of a fitness centre, with an emphasis on long-term sustainability and the customer experience. I now use the findings of this thesis not only in my own business, but they can also serve as inspiration for other fitness centre operators. I would recommend the programme to anyone who wants to keep up with the times in the field of sport and fitness, develop their managerial skills and gain practical know-how.
I chose the sports management programme because I wanted to „broaden my horizons“ after 20 years in sports club management. My expectations were met to the letter, both in terms of the creativity of the lecturers’ lessons and the involvement of students from other disciplines, who contributed their own expertise. At Palestra, you’ll find people with years of experience in the field who aren’t afraid to apply theory to practical case studies.
As a graduate of the MBA in Sports Management programme at Palestra University, I can wholeheartedly recommend this course. The programme gave me a deep insight into sports management, marketing, law and finance, and thanks to its strong practical focus, I have been able to apply all the knowledge I gained in my career. I have applied this knowledge in a major Kaufland project for the ice hockey sector, of which I am a co-author and project manager. I have also applied it in managing sports clubs and associations with a combined membership of 3,500. The experienced lecturers from the world of sport and the opportunity to network with colleagues in the field were a great benefit to me. What’s more, the course was extremely flexible, so it was easy to combine with work. It was a great investment in my professional future.
