The educational programme "Study of Pedagogy for Teaching Assistants" is accredited by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic. The accreditation number of the educational course is: No.: MSMT- 12372/2025-5-66.
The programme is accredited on the basis of Sections 25 and 27 of Act No. 563/2004 Coll., on Teaching Personnel and on Amendments to Certain Acts, as amended, and in accordance with Act No.
CONDITIONS OF ADMISSION TO THE PROGRAMME
Completion of secondary education, higher vocational education or university education, current or previous experience does not matter.
Note: for graduates with secondary education without a high school diploma, it is only possible to obtain a qualification to perform auxiliary educational work.
OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME OF STUDIES IN PEDAGOGY FOR TEACHING ASSISTANTS
- to provide candidates with teaching qualifications
- improve their possibilities and application in current practice
- to equip graduates with the knowledge and skills in the field of pedagogy and psychology, which condition the performance of assistant teacher activities
- impart skills and knowledge with direct relevance to the practice of the participants
APPLICATION IN PRACTICE
In schools or educational establishments as a teaching assistant.
CONTENT OF THE TRAINING
- Introduction to the study and Seminar for the final thesis
- School system, education of children, pupils and students
- Pedagogical-psychological foundations for the performance of pedagogical activities of a teaching assistant
- The role of the teaching assistant
- Fundamentals of special pedagogy and inclusive approach for the performance of assistant teacher activities
- Teaching assistant practice
The scope of teaching is given by 125 teaching hours, of which 85 hours of full-time teaching and 40 hours of reflective practice.
Classes will be held in 5-6 weekend camps (Saturday, Sunday) over the course of 3-6 months. Classes take place in the building of VŠTVS PALESTRA, Slovačíkova 400/1, Prague 9 Kbely.
Students will receive information about the start of the course and the timetable by e-mail 1-2 weeks before the start of the course. Confirmation of study is linked to physical enrolment in a specific course of the training programme.
At the end of their studies, students take a final examination before an examination board, which consists of a defence of the final thesis and an oral examination.
TEACHING DATES
Direct full-time teaching will be carried out in 5-6 study camps on weekends (Saturday, Sunday - see the dates of teaching set for each course). The teaching takes place in the building of VŠTVS PALESTRA, Slovačíkova 400/1, Prague 9 Kbely.

These are always Saturdays and Sundays, classes usually start at 8:30 am and end no later than 5:00 pm. Some days may be free, some may be half day classes only. Always according to the current schedule. On these weekends there will be classes for both the Study of Pedagogy for Educators and the Study of Pedagogy for Teaching Assistants. For those interested in obtaining both certificates, classes will be coordinated so that both courses can only be taken on those given weekends. A portion of the instruction is shared by both groups of students.

CANCELLATION POLICY
On the basis of a binding application, we send each applicant an advance invoice for the full amount, which is due no later than 30 days before the start of the programme, unless otherwise agreed.
Free cancellations are accepted up to 14 calendar days before the start of the course (seminar), for cancellations up to 5 working days before the start of the course (seminar) we charge a cancellation fee of 25 % of the course (seminar) price. Later cancellations cannot be accepted for operational reasons, in which case the cancellation fee is 100 % of the course (seminar) price.

Admissions to the course starting March/April 2026 will open on 5 January 2026, when the link to the application form will be active again on the website and the dates of the lessons will be specified.
