PALESTRA Training School

Study to deepen professional qualifications

As part of the further education of teaching staff, we offer courses to deepen teaching qualifications. Within the framework of these courses, teachers can deepen their existing qualifications by acquiring professional knowledge and skills in the field of physical education, art and drama education, leisure time activities and the preparation and implementation of a stay in nature.

The extension of the qualification can be suitably used in the preparation and implementation of school educational programmes, in the design of cross-cutting educational topics for the curriculum and in the conception and implementation of programmes within the framework of primary prevention of socially pathological phenomena at schools and in low-threshold facilities.

COACHING SCHOOL

The PALESTRA Coaching School (hereinafter referred to as PALESTRA Coaching School) is a new project that was launched in July 2020 with the opening of the first coaching course for "B" class coaches in the scope of a retraining course. This is the culmination of several years of preparation of the overall concept. The next step was the opening of the first run of the two-year course for "A" coaches in October 2020.

Basic thesis

PALESTRA is always a joint project of PALESTRA and a specific sports association. Without contractually confirmed cooperation with the sports federation, it is not possible to accept students into the study, the sports federation may also exercise the right to agree on a specific list of students before the start of the study. The basic concept of teaching at the PALESTRA Technical School is the connection between the academic environment and the needs of the sports federations:

  • Joint responsibility over the content of the taught material and the implementation of final examinations
  • Combination of internal and external lecturers, academics and practitioners = the aim is a compact lecturer corps of experts suitably supplemented by external lecturers from the Czech Republic and abroad
  • Involvement of graduates of coaching studies in teaching in other courses
  • Rapid response to new trends and their integration into teaching
  • Foreign internships

An important point is the use of international cooperation. VŠTVS PALESTRA is a member of ICCE (International Council for Coaching Excellence), the teaching standards are based on ICCE's Standards for Higher Education Bachelor Coaching Degree Programmes (International Coaching Degree Standards).

We also consulted with the "Trainerakademie Köln des Deutschen Olympischen Sportbundes" and used the experience with training of coaches of cooperating associations and international organizations.
