Fenomén prožitku v postmoderně / The phenomenon of experience in postmodernity

The authors define the notion of postmodernism and its continuation in the post-factual era, or late, in relation to the understanding and definition of experience in contemporary culture, art, pedagogy and the helping professions. They devote significant space to the phenomenology of experience, the implications of which they find in contemporary art and pedagogy. The authors of the text develop the legacy of the Slovak philosophical school of perichronosophy, emphasizing the practical implications of the concept of concordance for the contemporary understanding of movement not only in sport, but also in social kinetics and the arts.

Keywords: postmodernism, experience, culture, social kinetics, phenomenology, perichronosophy

Using the Reality Czech Materials - from Formal Classrooms to Self Study

What should Czech language teaching for foreigners look like? What grammatical and cultural phenomena are most important and how should they be presented to adult learners who are encountering Czech for the first time? These questions will be the subject of a presentation on the textbook and teaching materials Real estates Czech, available at https://realityczech.org. This is a textbook for beginners to intermediate students of Czech as a foreign language.

Textbooks Real estates Czech is an Open Educational Resource, which means that all of its content is under an open licence. Specifically, it is licensed under a CC BY-SA (Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike) license, which allows the content to be freely used, shared, copied, modified, and distributed, with attribution and the same license for derivative works. This project was initiated at the University of Texas at Austin in 2014 and the textbook was officially published in 2020.

Real estates Czech is a huge open educational resource in its scope and contains the following components:

  • grammar and culture lessons (more than 850 pages)
  • automatically corrected grammar exercises (almost 500)
  • activity book (more than 500 pages)
  • workbook (more than 270 pages)
  • videos corresponding to each question about everyday life (over 245)
  • videos about various interesting places in Prague (11 in total)
  • exercises on the Quizlet website (vocabulary and grammatical phenomena)

The main organizing principle of the course materials is the so-called backwards design (planning backwards). Textbook Real estates Czech uses a communicative approach to language teaching and the materials are based on videos filmed and compiled specifically for the programme. In these videos, native Czech speakers answer questions about basic everyday topics such as food, weather, health and illness, hobbies, daily routines, etc. Students learn new grammar and vocabulary so that they are able to answer these questions themselves. The presentation will focus on how these materials are used in university courses and what they can offer students in different settings and at different language levels.

This presentation and workshop will focus on the Open Educational Resource Real estates Czech (https://realityczech.org), which is a freely available textbook and curriculum for learning the Czech language. Real estates Czech employs a proficiency-based approach to language learning, meaning that the materials are all designed to help students reach a high level of communicative competence in Czech from the very outset. The textbook does so by introducing grammar and vocabulary through various everyday topics primarily through videos filmed and compiled for the program. In these videos, native Czech speakers talk about basic everyday topics such as food, weather, health and illness, hobbies, daily routines, etc. Students learn new grammar and vocabulary so that they are able to answer these questions on their own.

Real estates Czech can be used in a number of contexts, from structured courses led by an instructor, to individuals who want to study Czech on their own (or with a tutor). In the workshop portion of this presentation, I will discuss how I, the author of the textbook, use these materials at the university level and work together with participants to look at the ways that they can immediately employ them for their own uses.

I work as a psychotherapist in private practice and I am also a part-time school psychologist. I find working with children, their parents and teachers fulfilling, especially because of its variety.

I consider the job of a teacher to be very important, but at the same time extremely demanding. That is why I feel it is essential to create sufficient psychological support for teachers so that they feel safe and can develop professionally.

In my work, I focus on supporting parents during their offspring's entry into kindergarten. I know from my own experience that if a parent is supported by a professional such as a psychologist or teacher during challenging times, their anxiety is greatly reduced and their ability to be a support for their child is increased.

Obraz vztahů mezi mateřskými školami a rodičovskou veřejností v českém odborném pedagogickém tisku v letech 2005-2022 / The image of relations between kindergartens and the parenting public in the Czech professional pedagogical press in the years 2005-2022

A number of different studies have shown that a sensitively managed adaptation period for the child, aimed at a smooth adjustment to kindergarten, can reduce parents' psychological discomfort, facilitate the emergence of partnership cooperation and increase the family's willingness to actively participate in further school socialisation. Initial positive experiences with educational institutions and teachers have been shown to facilitate children's entry into primary school. Some parents experience anxiety, uncertainty and frustration when their offspring enter kindergarten. If they are not supported pedagogically and psychologically in time, they generally adopt a passive role towards the school and remain in a 'silent partnership'. For educational staff, such a person may be a 'good parent', but the potential individual contribution to educational development is lost.

Using a review study analyzing the texts of articles published between 2005 and 2022 in 13 selected pedagogical journals, we obtained an overview of the presentation of topics related to the interest in the issue of parental support during children's entry into kindergarten. The time period was chosen for the research investigation to cover the entire period of current education legislation. Although the need for quality communication towards the child's representative is emphasised by the professional community and representatives of public authorities, the presented study captured only a limited number of articles dealing with this topic.

It follows from a number of different studies that a sensitively guided adaptation period of the child, focused on a problem-free adaptation to kindergarten, can reduce the psychological discomfort of parents, helps the formation of partner cooperation and increases the family's desire to actively participate in further school socialization. It has been proven that initial positive experiences with educational institutions and teachers make it easier for children to enter primary school. Some parents experience anxiety, uncertainty and frustration when enrolling their child in kindergarten. If they do not receive pedagogical and psychological support in time, they generally adopt a passive role towards the school and remain in a so-called silent partnership. For educators, such a person can be a "good parent", but a possible individual contribution to the development of the educational community is lost.

Although the professional public and representatives of public administration bodies emphasize the need for quality communication towards the child's representative, the presented study captured only a limited number of articles dealing with the mentioned topic.

Lecturer, doctor in the "physical education and sports" section at the Department of Physical Education at the Agricultural University Plovdiv, psychologist at Federation of Adapted Physical Activity Bulgaria, Working with children and young people with special educational needs. Psychological and physical measurements of children and youth with special educational needs. Tracking the mental and physical changes that occur as a result of applied methodology for adapted physical activity. Work under the scientific program of FAPA Bulgaria.

The adapted physical activity is one of the main factors for the mental and the physical development for children and young people with special educational needs

One of the main factors for the mental and physical development of children and youth with special educational needs (SEN) is motor activity and sports. They have a positive impact as a result of the systematic application of specialized physical exercises. The effectiveness of the Methodology for adapted physical activity for children and young people with SEN has been proven. The methodology includes a complex of mental and physical exercises applied in the training of children and young people with SEN. The exercises are related to the development of concentration and switching of attention, psychomotor skills, emotional stability, emotional state and creativity. The effectiveness of the methodology has been verified through measurements carried out during ten-day summer sports camps in Greece Korelko 2019; Bulgaria, Sports rehabilitation complex Kamchia 2020 and Nessebar 2021 at the base of the "Vasil Levski" National Sports Academy. After mathematical and statistical processing, the obtained results show that the applied Methodology is effective. Mental development indicators have significantly and reliably improved and achievements in international competitions have been achieved by FAPA children and young people. Twenty one children and young people with SEN participated in the scientific study. As a result of the systematically applied methodology, the number of medals won from international competitions from 2019 to 2021 increased four times.

"Moje" edukace / "My" Education

The paper focuses on the role of experience in educational reality, based on a research survey conducted among first and third year high school students. Respondents rated the presented concepts using bipolar scales formed by antonyms of adjectives. On these scales they indicated the extent to which the adjective in question characterised the concept presented. The data obtained were analysed at the level of concepts, dimensions and on the basis of global similarity ratings. The research revealed that the concept knowledge is close to the word for respondents gametravelwhich brings experience, development of interests, creativity and creative thinking. We can therefore conclude that, from the respondents' point of view, personal experience is key to learning and personal development. On the other hand, the concepts of School a leisure are not close in meaning to the term knowledge and these are probably concepts that are more a means to something more significant for the respondents or a setting where what is essentially I closer.

Týden zdraví na 1. stupni ZŠ / Health Week in the First Level of Primary School

The present paper deals with the topic "Health Weeks in Primary 1". It discusses the issue of health education for primary school children and presents a specific project programme called "Wellness and Wellbeing" promoting health in accordance with the RVP and the specific period of younger school age. The aim was to identify the most appealing experiential activities from the project "Health Week - Wellness and Wellbeing" that were implemented, as well as the most popular environments in the school campus where the activities were implemented, and thus to design an effective educational program promoting wellbeing for children in the first grade of primary school. A total of 65 children aged 7-10 years from the 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade of primary school participated in the intervention program. The results of the questionnaire survey showed that the children were most interested in a program in a daycare setting, focusing on wellness activities. Programmes on healthy eating such as wellness gastronomy and first aid, prepared and presented by older classmates, were also popular.

Effects of the technique Yoga Nidra in elementary school children

Behavioral manifestations such as anxiety, hyperactivity, and emotional dysregulation are significant challenges to address in the education of young school-age children. In particular, increased psychological strain due to stress caused by increased demands on the child at school, increased family stress, hectic lifestyles, television, advertising and other influences have been described. Traditional interventions often rely on behaviour modification or medication with varying degrees of success and potential side effects. In recent years, non-pharmacological approaches, particularly those based on mind-body relaxation practices, mindfulness, have gained ground. Yoganidra counteracts stress and psychological tension, is a deep relaxation technique and offers a promising approach to promoting emotional well-being and positive behaviour change in children. This paper presents the potential of the yoganidra technique in addressing children's behavioural problems. Yoganidra can be performed under the guidance of an experienced yoga practitioner who knows how to guide children into deep relaxation and back. The visions and imagery used during the technique should be simple and positive. This paper presents the results of the application of the Yoganidra technique in terms of stress reduction, emotional regulation, self-awareness and sleep quality. The Yoganidra technique has been found to be very effective in addressing these specific behavioral problems of the younger school age child.

Social psychological training and experiential pedagogy

Social psychological training (SPT) and experiential pedagogy are considered to be effective methods of imparting knowledge and skills through the active involvement of participants in prepared programmes.

SPV is based on applied social psychology and social learning theory. It follows the tradition of encounter groups and T-groups. SPV is primarily focused on training in social skills and understanding of social relationships through working in a trusting group setting. It enables a different experience of personal and professional life and brings new ways of interpreting reality.

Experience in training managers, beginning college teachers, volunteer leaders in working with children, college students, and other groups has demonstrated the effectiveness of SPV in many areas. SPV primarily focuses on the psychological development of the individual in interpersonal relationships and on social competence. It enables the acquisition of new usable knowledge, social and professional interpersonal skills, and personal growth.

Experiential pedagogy is based on the premise that learning linked to concrete experiences and emotions in a safe atmosphere is more effective and lasting. It is primarily focused on teaching, with the involvement and active personal participation of students in the learning process. This differs from traditional methods, which focus on theoretical knowledge and the predominantly passive approach to learning. However, experiential pedagogy methods can also focus on the awareness of personal values and the development of certain skills.

The common basis of both methodological approaches can be seen in the holistic concept of free personal development in the areas of knowledge, skills and attitudes. It can be stated that both approaches, with their pluralistic approach of postmodernism, open up a space for the "will to meaning" formulated by V. E. Frankl.

Efektivita grupové aktivizace v domově seniorů / Effectiveness of Group Activation in a Home for the Elderly

Group activation of seniors brings not only physical but also cognitive benefits. Moreover, in group participation, the motivation of the seniors is promoted, and if the rules of a balanced competition with comparable input abilities are followed, there is also a spirit of mutual support to try to achieve a greater shift to improve the current physical or mental level. The aim of our year-long research (by repeated testing of attention, memory and thinking) was to demonstrate an improvement in the cognitive fitness of seniors after regular cognitive training interspersed with relaxation physical exercise.

The Czech ILCO, z.s. is a patient organization that represents the associations of ostomates in the Czech Republic and represents their interests in international organizations. It cooperates with legislators, state authorities, insurance companies, health professionals, manufacturers of ostomy equipment and other organisations. The purpose of the work of the Czech ILCO is to help solve the medical, social and psychological problems that are associated with the return of an ostomate to normal life. It prepares and trains volunteers from among experienced ostomates. It stresses the importance of prevention. It seeks to de-taboo the subject of ostomies.

Health in motion

It is a well-known fact that our body will function better if we give it enough exercise. Not only the body functions better but also the brain. A fit person can not only cope better with physical and mental stress, but physical fitness is a great advantage even if we fall ill. If we can exercise after illness, we will recover more quickly. The hospitals know this. After the operation, exercise instructors come to see the patients; even small movements help patients to keep their bodies fit and improve their mood.

Czech ILCO highly recommends the movement. Since 2018, we have been exercising over the winter in the Information Centre for Ostomates according to the Health in Motion video (the exercise is suitable for severely weakened individuals, it is light, easy and effective for everyone). Also, the shared experience is another reason why not only our members come to exercise.

Positive experience

In January 2023, four days after the operation, Daniela was released from the hospital and went home with a newly stitched stoma. She was absolutely miserable at home. She was very weak and did not know how to take care of her stoma. She said "what have they done to me, I'm not going to get used to this". Already from the hospital she was booked in with a Home Care nurse. In addition, Daniela sought help from ILCO volunteers. She found contact details on the ILCO.cz website. She chose Maria who, being about the same age, had a similar illness. They were in contact by phone or e-mail at least twice a week for the first few months. The volunteer explained that it was necessary to be patient, to learn everything, what to eat, to drink enough, to slowly start strengthening the body, to learn to breathe, to relax. After three Sundays Daniela said, "I can treat myself now, it's good. I am independent." In addition to the walks, she started to exercise according to the Health in Motion video. Daniela strengthened her body every day. She was gaining strength. It made them both happy.

Marie and Daniela talked a lot about life with a stoma. Within a year Daniela was so well that she went to the Alps with her family and skied with her grandson. During the year, she strengthened her body on her own. We are looking forward to starting to work out together again in the fall after the summer break.

Analýza pohybových aktivit a zdatnosti současných čtyřicátníků / Analysis of movement activities and fitness of current 40-year-olds

The aim of our study was to analyse the physical activities and other activities of 40-year-olds, i.e. people aged 40-49, that they carry out in their everyday life. We also investigated the physical fitness of this age group.

To accomplish our purpose, we used a modified "Questionnaire to Identify Physical Activity and Wellness Activities of Forty-Somethings" designed specifically for the occasion.

75 women and an equal number of men aged 40-49 took part in the survey. The survey took place in 2020, just before the onset of the coronavirus epidemic. We used the statistical program Excel to process the results of the survey.

The aim of our study was to analyze physical activities of people in their forties, i.e. people aged 40-49, who carry out in their daily lives. We also found out the physical fitness of this age group.

To achieve our intention, we used a modified "Questionnaire to find out the physical activities and wellness activities of people in their forties", compiled especially for this occasion.

The survey involved 75 women and the same number of men aged 40-49 years. The survey was conducted in 2020, just before the onset of the coronavirus epidemic. We used the statistical program Excel to process the results of the survey.

The average age of the respondents was 45.2 years, BMI of men 26.4, women 23.7. Half of the respondents live in a city with more than 50,000 inhabitants, 47 % of women and 41 % of men have a university degree. 73 % of the interviewed men and 85 % of the interviewed women actively take care of their own condition. The most frequently mentioned physical activities realized in the last 12 months were walks (walking, trips, Nordic walking, hiking), followed by sports activities (most often sports games, cycling, swimming, skiing), activities in the fitness center, group exercises aerobics, yoga, pilates etc.), own exercise, sauna, meditation.

In the 12-minute running test men reached 1867 m and women 1613 m.

Reflected innovation of teaching practice as an effective means of improving the quality of teaching (not only) at universities

The writing of this article was driven by an interest in all that is happening and changing in teaching for the benefit of promoting effective education (not only) in higher education, accompanied by a deep theoretical understanding of the didactic work of teachers with content. The analysis of content and its transformations represents a necessary first starting point for the search for the best possible teaching tasks, teaching practices and methods. The paper presents the results of an in-depth investigation carried out in the teaching of selected subjects at the Masaryk Institute of Higher Studies of the Czech Technical University in Prague with the aim of revealing well-applicable activation methods with a creative overlap and to inspire knowledge sharing among teachers and improving the quality of teaching across disciplines. Along with the results of the evaluation of the quality of implemented alternations from the perspective of the teacher (resulting from the reflection "after the event"), the results of the evaluation of the overall satisfaction of students with the inclusion of creative methods or techniques and the evaluation of the perceived "power" of student activation or teamwork support are also presented. The findings presented here can be seen as a notional culmination of the research efforts, resulting from an attempt to assess students' optimal experiences in relation to the targeted development of their subject matter expertise. The key finding that a high level of didactic quality of teaching is closely related to the real occurrence of "flow" in the performance of learning tasks in groups may become an impetus for reflection and subsequent implementation of further in-depth investigations, especially by teachers open to pedagogical innovation in order to further explore and improve their own teaching.

Postmodernity of experiential sports education and ethics

The paper analyses the issue of postmodernism, which is already manifested in various ways in the approaches of experiential sport education. Terminologically, it is based on the findings of the author's research from the years 2020-2022, which she and her research team carried out within the project KEGA 008TTU-4/2019-2021 in Slovakia. The results of the research clearly confirm the presence of postmodern thinking and action in society. Considering the focus of the conference, the main aim of the paper is to identify the current impact of postmodernity in the specific environment of sport education, to draw implications for practice and to outline possibilities for prevention. A sub-objective is to analyse the axiological-rhetorical transformation of sport and the personality of the athlete. The anticipated outcome of the findings is to confirm the postmodern change in thinking about sport, athletes and sporting events, and the very understanding of sport and the performance of the profession of the athlete, which will allow to outline the possibilities of ethical solutions to the current situation of postmodern sport and the prevention of unethical activities in this field.

Experiencing Security and Confidence in Education

The lecture is conceived as a joint reflection on the need for safety in education, especially in the broader context of the mental health of pupils, teachers and parents. In our joint discussion we would like to focus on the important questions: 'What impact does an unmet need for safety have on a person? How can we find boundaries in building psychological resilience to avoid anxiety and consequent mental health problems in children and adolescents?

Move and Play the Stress Away: prevence sindromu vyhoření v učitelské profesi / Move and Play the Stress Away - against teacher burnout

The paper provides background information on the three-year project Move and Play the Stress Away, funded by Erasmus+: Cooperation for Innovation and the Exchange of Good Practices, Strategic Partnerships for school education.

The Move and Play the Stress Away (MPSA) project focuses on supporting the acquisition of key competences in vocational education and teacher training in primary schools. Within the framework of this project, training seminars including online MOOC webinars (Massive Open Online Course) on teacher wellbeing and burnout prevention will be implemented.

The aim of the project is to provide teachers with training and tools to help them prevent and/or mitigate professional burnout. The focus is on raising awareness of prevention and self-help initiatives and on increasing teachers' levels of self-reflection and self-assessment. It also seeks to increase the level of empowerment and resilience (resistance and perseverance) through self-help techniques while reducing subjective feelings of stress. Stress regulation and reduction will take place through mindfulness techniques and relaxation exercises. The project also envisages the use of playwork methodology, and thus ideologically builds on the previous projects VIPER, CAPS and PAPPUS, which were also addressed within the Erasmus+ programme by the same Czech research team (authors of the paper) and will be described in the presentation. The MPSA project is implemented in cooperation with partners from Hungary and Poland.
