He began his sporting career as a lawyer for the special purpose facility Pragosport, from which he left after eight years as deputy director to join the diplomatic service.
In 2004-2012 he served as Secretary General of the Czech Olympic Committee. In this position he participated in the Winter Olympic Games in Turin and Vancouver and the Olympic Games in Beijing and London. He attended the first Youth Olympic Games in Singapore in 2010 and two years later the Winter Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck. He was also a member of the team at the 2007 European Youth Olympic Festivals in Jace, Spain and Belgrade, Serbia, in 2009 in Slask Beskydy, Poland and Tampere, Finland, in 2011 in Liberec (member of the OC) and Trabzon, Turkey.
For four years he served on the EOC Commission for Cooperation with the EU. In 2007-2012 he was an external lecturer at FTVS UK - sports management. In 2012 - 2015 he worked as Deputy Secretary General of the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship in Prague and Ostrava with responsibility for the games played in Prague's O2 Arena.
He worked briefly as a sports academy and leisure activities manager at Sunny Canadian International School, and then worked as a ministerial advisor in the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, first as head of the Control Unit and then as head of the Concept Unit of the Department of Sport.
He now works as Deputy Secretary General at the Czech Tourist Club. He is an active tennis player and a class II coach.
