Mgr. Petr Bříza was born on 9 December 1964 in Prague. He ended his rich active career as a hockey goalkeeper at the age of 41 with a championship title, besides that he collected several other awards (bronze from the Winter Olympics, 4x bronze from the World Ice Hockey Championship, 4x gold, 1x silver and 1x bronze in the ice hockey extraliga with HC Sparta Prague).
In 2006, he started working as GM at HC Sparta Praha, where he has been the Chairman of the Board since 2012.
He also serves as a representative of the City of Prague, a member of the Executive Committee of the Czech Ice Hockey Federation, a member of the Board of Directors of the Champions Hockey League, Chairman of the IIHF Youth Development Commission and a member of the IIHF Council.
