MUDr. Jozef Martinča

He is a graduate of the Faculty of Medicine of Charles University in Pilsen, majoring in general medicine. Postgraduate studies in internal medicine, endocrinology and physical medicine. He initially worked in a hospital ward, later in outpatient practice, where he still works today. Since 1984, his main field of specialization has been sports medicine. After years of working at the Institute of Sports Medicine, he now works in the outpatient clinic for sports representation. For three decades, he had personal care of the national speed canoeing athletes, with whom he participated in top world competitions, including 3 Olympic Games. On the side, he worked for many years in medical emergency and rescue services.

Since 1991 he has been teaching at the Palestra College of Higher Education and, after its establishment, at the Palestra University until now. He is a member of the Department of Biomedical Sciences. He is the author of school scripts on First Aid, Nutrition and several e-learning aids.

In his free time he enjoys physical activities, especially hiking, skiing and cycling.
