Investor in the hospitality industry (co-owns the Stubnerhof Hotel, Beachklub Ladvi and Kayak Beach Bar). From 2019 to 2023, he headed the CzechTourism agency, where he also worked previously (2012-2016) as Director of the Institute of Tourism and the Department of Foreign Representations and Online. He has also worked as head of the Czech branch of VisitBritain, as well as on the promotion of Austrian Carinthia (Kärnten Werbung), Tyrol (Tirol Werbung), and Poland (Polish Tourist Organisation).

As a visiting professor he has lectured at the University of Northern Colorado in the USA, the University of Lahti in Finland and the University of Styer in Austria. Since 2006 he has been working at the Department of Tourism at the University of Economics.
