BASIC INFORMATION

Prof. Václav Hošek specializes in sport psychology, in particular he deals with issues of motivation and adherence in sport, and in connection with the focus of the PALESTRA University of Sport, of which he is the rector, he also deals with issues of supporting a healthy lifestyle in various target groups, especially the elderly. 

His position in professional circles contributes significantly to the development of the young field of Wellness both in the Czech Republic and abroad. During his professional development, Prof. Hošek lectured at a number of prestigious universities in Europe (e.g. Lisbon, Lubljana) and actively participated in many international congresses. 

He also acts as an expert witness in the field of sport psychology. He is a member of a number of scientific societies and scientific councils of other universities. 

He is a member of the scientific board of the new scientific journal Acta Salus Vitae, which was founded at the VŠTVS PALESTRA by the Society for Research in Wellness as a medium for promoting science and research in the field of wellness and as a platform for building a platform for the development of this new field.

EDUCATION

  • 1960 - Faculty of Physical Education and Sport of Charles University in Prague - Physical Education Teacher.
  • 1965 - Faculty of Physical Education and Sport of Charles University in Prague - awarded the degree of CSc. in the field of Psychology of Sport.
  • 1977 - Faculty of Physical Education and Sport of Charles University in Prague - habilitation proceedings in the field of Theory of Teaching Physical Education, with a focus on psychology.
  • 1982 - Faculty of Physical Education and Sport of Charles University in Prague - awarded the rank of DrSc. Doctorate in Theory of Physical Culture.
  • 1987 - Faculty of Physical Education and Sport, Charles University in Prague - professorship in Theory of Physical Culture.
